Lunch And Learn: Faithful Citizenship

Thursday, September 19, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM | Dining Room

Why does Pope Francis say that a good Catholic “meddles” in politics? Why does he call it one of the highest forms of charity? What does the Church mean when she calls us to be “faithful citizens”? And what about the separation of church and state? Jason Adkins’ presentation will offer a brief introduction about what politics is and is not, and why our participation in social and political life is a call of discipleship and, for some, a particular calling, or vocation. He will share why it matters to participate, how we do so effectively, and the toolbox of principles (Catholic Social Teaching) that we bring into public life to build a civilization of love.

Jason Adkins is the executive director of the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, which serves to uphold life, dignity, and the common good.

Our Lunch and Learn is free, and RSVP's are encouraged to the Parish Office at 952-929-3317.
