Options for Grief Support
Edina Coalition for Grief Support
Our Lady of Grace partners with the Edina Coalition for Grief Support. Coping with the death of a loved one can be one of the most difficult challenges we face. Understanding the grief process and sharing with other individuals in a supportive and caring environment can lead to acceptance, personal growth and recovery. The Edina Coalition for Grief Support offers a short-term program for adults who are experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one. The focus is on education and group support in a safe and confidential environment. Please click here for more information regarding meetings and scheduling.
Stephen Ministry
All of us need a helping hand now and again. Sometimes life throws us a curveball, and we just need a listening ear. Stephen Ministers are here to help. They provide one-on-one care for individuals who are grieving from the loss of a loved one, as well as support for many other areas. For more information, visit our Stephen Ministry page.
Widows of Grace
Our Widows of Grace meets the second Friday of each month from 9:30 - 11:00 AM for coffee in the Dining Room or on the Marian Patio. Join us for 9:00 AM Mass before our meeting! Call Jen Beutz in the Parish Office (x9030) for more details.
Miscarriage Support
Couples who experience the loss of a child through miscarriage or stillbirth can feel isolated and confused. The Catholic Miscarriage Support website provides immediate, practical support and answers to many common questions on what the Church teaches as well as navigating physical, spiritual and emotional challenges related to miscarriage and stillbirth. The site also has helpful information on how family and friends can offer compassionate care during this time of loss and grieving.
Youth Grief Support Groups
Brighter Days Family Grief Center offers a free grief support series for youth, ages 4 - 17. Parents are also supported through this series and attend their own groups while the children/teens attend theirs. They also offer monthly support groups, individual counseling, camps, and special events. For more information, click here to visit the Brighter Days Family Grief Center website.
Memorial Pavers
Help make the Memorial Terrace a place of comfort, reflection and community for many years to come. It is a unique and lasting way to commemorate a special family member or friend as well as important occasions and events. Order forms are available both in the Commons kiosk and Parish Office or click here to download now.
