Ed Bennett Funeral

Wednesday, October 11, 2023 | 11:00 AM

Ed was a proud Virginian all his life. After graduating from the University of Richmond, he started his retail career and held senior level management positions for Federated Department Stores and Abercrombie & Fitch in NY, and later for Dayton Hudson in MN where he lived and loved for fifty years. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. and Mary Bennett, sister Mary Frances, wife Sue Bennett and favorite dog Max. He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathryn of 48 years, children Edward, Michael, Laura, and Sarah and their spouses Brenda, Bill, and Tim. Loving and supportive, witty and silly, Ed found great joy in fatherhood. He loved babies and eagerly welcomed very special grandchildren Michael, Cassie, Emma, Alice, and Jack.

His career offered him countless opportunities for travel, his favorites being trips to Europe, especially Italy, and South America. His Minnesota brothers- in-law, John and Bud, introduced him to walleye fishing in Canada; he embraced the planning almost as much as the actual trip! A supporter of the arts he completed his career by owning retail gallery shops. Whether classical music, opera, Andrea Bocelli or the Bee Gees, Ed knew and loved his music, listening whenever and however he could. An avid reader of history, the classics, espionage novels and always the daily newspaper, he was rarely without something to quote or talk about, especially if the topic was WWll, Winston Churchill or a recent concert. He held onto fond memories of his youthful days being a lifeguard at Virginia Beach and later as a mean tennis player with a wicked serve. Ed was social; he enjoyed his relationships with nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbors, friends, and caregivers.

A heartfelt thank you to Tyler Leonard and the staff at Mount Olivet Careview Home for their compassionate and loving care.

Jim Mosakowski Funeral

Friday, September 8, 2023 | 10:30 AM

Jim was called to his eternal rest on August 27, 2023, passing on peacefully while surrounded by family. He was born in Buffalo, NY, and cherished the experience of growing up on a small farm in the area. His inquisitive nature and desire to excel led to degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering. It was during his studies in New York City that he met his wife of 57 years, Karen. They and their sons, Phil and Jason, enjoyed living in various U.S. cities during Jim’s career with the Hewlett-Packard Co. While he deeply enjoyed being a part of a great company, that was dwarfed by the pride he had in his sons and their families.

Following retirement, Jim and Karen spent about a decade in Flat Rock, NC. They marveled at the beauty of the surrounding mountains and the vitality of small-town life. After a period of time living outside Boulder, CO, they settled in the Twin Cities, where they enjoyed the variety of seasons and activities in the community.

Jim may have retired from industry, but he never slowed down. He devoted time to tutoring elementary and high school students, serving on the board of the homeowners’ association, volunteering at the Boys and Girl Clubs of America and local food banks, and filling numerous roles at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina, MN. In his spare time, he could be seen on one of his bicycles or working in the yard.

Jim is survived by his wife, Karen, and their sons, Phil and Jason, and their families living in CO and MN. His sister Chris lives in upstate NY.

Visitation to be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, September 8, 2023, and the funeral will be at 10:30 AM.
